My life in Chelsea

Well, my contract finished in my previous room in Queen's Park. I didn't want to renew it for many reasons that would be long to explain. The thing is after searching a room for over a month, I finally found one. A nice cozy room in a clean and tidy flatshare in the heart of Battersea, just two minutes walk from Battersea Park, which is amazing. I'd be sharing the flat with a Russian guy, a Chinese girl and an Englisman mate. We have a cool livingroom, propper kitchen and two toilets, so there shouldn't be any problem at all with that. All professionals between their 20's and 30's.
As it is in Zone 1, e.g Central London, I'll be saving money from transport. Also the room is £160 cheaper than the one in Queen's Park. As we have a washing machine, I'll be saving money from laundry service as well. So in total I can expect to save around £200.- per month, which is quite cool.
By now, you should be asking "where's the catch?". And here it is: the room is available from 1st March. Aja!! So what now? Where am I living? The answer to all your troubles and questions is "Family or Friends". I am satying with my best friend in London, Henriette, who happens to live in Chelsea, one of the most expensive and exclusive areas in Central London. Indeed the area is beautiful, tidy and bright. But the most important thing is the fact that I am living with my friend (and her nice and sweet flatmate, Antalya, a gorgeous supermodel). Both of them seem to be very happy to recieve me, and I am even happier to saty with them.
Last Saturday we went to the street market near Sloan Sq and we bought some nice cheese, walnut and raisin bread, a delicious jam an the most amazing double chocolate brownie.
We live just 10min away from any point of interest within London and the area couldn't be safer.
Personally, what makes me really happy is that I am not living alone anymore. I have someone to recieve me with a cup of tea when I come late from work, we help each other with the flat duties, we go shopping and sometimes we evern cook together. It is fantastic. Especially now that all the people I met in London is going back home. The first one was my Turkish friend Zeinep who went back to Istambul some months ago. Then my Japanese friend Chihiro, who went back to Osaka at the end of Decemeber. Just two week ago my friend from Colombia, Nataly flew back to Bogota. At work one my collegues, the sweet Almonta went back to Lituania without any promise of comming back. And now my angel, one of my best friends in town who really supported me all the way since I arrived here last May, Acharaa Than or better known to everyone as Archy is going back to Thailand on 7th March, just two days before my birthday. I am very sad. Even Askin is going back to Turkey at the end of next month...
That's one of the darkest sides of London Town.

Feliz anio del Dragon!

Al fin termino el anio del conejo. En Londres se hace la celebracion del anio nuevo chino mas grande del mundo afuera de China. Por eso aca dura 2 semanas los festejos. Obviamente se cerro al peaton varias zonas del centro de la ciudad incluyendo leicester Square, Chinatown obviamente y los alrededores de Trafalgar Square en donde instalaron gran escenario bajo la columnata de Nelson. Alli se presento el alcalde la ciudad de Londres (con casi me choco de frente...literalmente), el embajador de China en Reino Unido, un tenor quecanto musica de opera italiana, una cantante popular china, unos musicos, etc. Se hizo la danza de los leones y las bendiciones para el anio nuevo.
Luego fui a Chinatown y los restaurantes tenian cola kilometrica para comer unos dim sums.
Lei mi horoscopo chino, vi las bendiciones de los negocios por parte de los dragones. Cada negocio coloca un vegetal en lo alto de la puerta y los dragones, coloridos trajes con habilidosos bailarines debajo, toman el vegetal simbolizando que el dragon acepta la ofrenda y bendice el negocio.
Mas de la multiculturalidad de la capital inglesa :)
